  • Jim’s Daily — Lets look at the letter “C”

Good Morning — Hey just thought — C is a funny letter — does it mean the key of C,  the ocean like body of water,  I see you?  South of the boarder it could mean “I understand, Yes” , a location like — I live in the C block of the retirement community?

Oh that brings up a word — COMMUNITY   We animals are PASSIONATE about our COMMUNITIES — We love to be together if we are alike! or maybe not quite a like!

    COMMUNITY OF LIKE ANIMALS:

    community stack

COMMUNITY OF NOT QUITE ALIKE ANIMALS — the gator is just yawning.

    communityyan

Think about your own community and passion for like minded people. I have said, now that I am old, by most all community standards, I deserve to let the world be run by the young and passionate. Well I do not know why I said that or what I ment by it but it sure sounded funny at the time — was I drinking ?  Do not think so, I said it early in the morning. I think it was just my way of not having to think about the scary morning news and the local political debates and passionate actions by some candidates.  Oh, well that is me, saying things in jest that I should not say!

Now I will tell you a little of the communities I choose to be a part of.  Remember, relatives are given to you — communities are your choice.

THIS MONTH: It is the Community of the Birding and Wildlife Festival.  I volunteer with those that are really passionate — folks that are known around the world for their work with birds and wildlife and make a living at it. I have volunteered with them for a number of years now. This community of passionate folks gives forth an appreciative perspective on the beauty of nature.

FEBRUARY SHOWS: I organize the Photo Club here and participate in the Wood Shop hobby (Mostly making pens, pencils, key fobs).  Next month we hold display festivals to show off photos and wood hand-craft. This community of people have a passion and put in many hours to get really good at their art form  — They gives forth an appreciative perspective on the beauty that can be produced with photos and wood by those that are passionate.

MARCH GOLF: I will play in a golf competition called MEMBER/MEMBER. Well I am not really a golfer — just a person who enjoys getting out on the nice green pasture and hitting the ball from time to time between taking photos of the wildlife on the fairways.  But the community of people playing in the Member/Member competition will, I am sure, gives forth an appreciative perspective on the athletic skills obtained by older folks enjoying each other in friendly competition and of course, enjoying the natural beauty of the course.

APRIL — One more, then I will quit talking (writing). The Equine Affair in Ohio is a show beyond show — Workshops, demonstrations, and performance show — all by a community of passionate horse people — experts, performers, show men/show women and a community of attendees like me and my friends from Drummond Island. This show gives forth an appreciative perspective on the value of our animal friends:  the enjoyment, companionship, confidence, and comfort that “pets” give us. Not sure all those internationally-known horse people would call them pets — but I do.

So say I to me — Do not turn everything over to the young — Only the difficult stuff that that they can do better — You got it young folks! Go forth in your community and do it well!  Thanks, for giving me the time to go forth in my communities and I hope that somehow my communities give forth an  appreciative perspective to your community.

  • Jim’s Daily – Today lets use the letter R

Hello and good morning. For the “R” I chose “real”!!

Is the our VP standing beside the singer and listening to a real singer’s voice or was it made up in a studio and just made to sound real — even at close range?

Oh, that brings up some questions.  Have you really seen Joe Beiden? Have you touched him? Is he for real? Was that a stand-in there on the stage?  Or, maybe it was a just a cardboard figure?  Or maybe he is only real in our Presidents mind? —  Oh, by the way, have you touched the President lately?

Speaking of real touches.  Went to see the Rocketts at Radio City Christmas eve — or there a bouts. Now part of the show is viewed thru 3 D glasses which they give u when u enter.  Now as you know — I am a believer! SO,  I reached out to touch — In an appropriate way of course — But, not to worry, she was not really there — it was only a 3D technical illusion — but I still ask was she real in my mind and would I have been arrested for an inappropriate touch?  What is real?

In the game of high $ football, Is the girl friend real.  Is she really dead, even, if she is not real?

Is a beholder really a One Eyed orb?

    Is this really wood art?penart

Or should I only make pens and pencils that look like this?

    pen

Should I get real and focus on my golf game or is it ok to really focus on wildlife?birdon2

Is the score I write down for real or am I always being watched and the watchers know the real score? iamhidding2000

Oh, the glint in the birds eyes are not real — Photoshop helped me do that — But I won’t tell ABC News that they are not real!  Oh, the pen-art heart is not real ivory — it is a slice of a nut found floating in the ocean!  I will try scrimshaw, later, on it.

  • Jim,s Daily – I think I will dwell on the letter “B” this morning.

Good Morning, — I am not an artist and I am not a photographer.  But I sure enjoy taking pictures and creating wood art. But I never know when I did it right?

So, I guess the phrase “Great art is in the eyes of the “B”eholder” is what I have to go by.

Oh, that brings up the question — What is a Beholder?  I don’t know.  So, off to the dictionary just as my 5th grade teacher, Miss Landis, told me I must do when in doubt.

    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The beholder is a fictional monster in the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy role-playing game. It resembles a floating orb of flesh with a large mouth, single central eye, and lots of smaller eyestalks on top with deadly magical powers.

Now I know !!!!  It sure did not help my art work any  — but see if you like the photos below — I do. and they have nothing to do with “B”, unless, you call them “B”beautiful.

  • Hello, from Jim — JIMSDAILY, that is — Almost 10 months since I posted!

Maybe a new letter to write about is the thing I should do.

Lets try “U”!    U  is short for You in the text message the grandkids send me.  Miss Landis, my 5th grade teacher would not have passed me to the 6th grade if I tried to write U for You! Even if she wanted me out of her 5th grade room and the only way to get rid of me was to “pass” me onto grade 6.

NapperI got a new camera — a Nikon 510 — I needed to replace the SRL Nikon stolen by whom  I assume was NC rednecks — Anyway I was dumb for putting my camera in such a place that it could be stolen so easily — but that is another story when I get to the letter S.

Love that new camera so far — it is really a point and shoot that is trying to be an SRL.  With a 42x optical lens (that is 1,000 mm)  unheard of when I bought the SRL 8 years ago! Thanks NC folks  for helping me get a new camera by stealing the 8 year old camera. — I hope U got lots of drugs for that antique camera U stole and I hope U enjoy the jail cell U got yourself into —  when the pawn shop found a revolver hidden in the case with the camera.  G, I hear the law was not too happy with U — Yea!!

I love golf and my golf cart –But, maybe golf and golf carts are just another way to get me out there taking pictures of things that do not move. U C, that is my line — I only shoot things that do not move — and with a 1,000 mm lens,  most animals just ignore me and do their own thing — mostly they do not move  because I am so far away, they are not frightened by me taking their picture. — AND if they do move in my direction, I am far enough away that I can run and they will not get to eat me!!

letsswim copyHope this guy does not move in my direction! (Shot with the SRL that was stolen)jdsnake an1_11This guy was shot with my iphone.gator ball for blog
