I am a strong believer in life long learning – guess that is why I have 30 boxes of books sitting around here.  I go to book stores every chance I get. Can’t help it –

The study of abstract art is new to me and I am sure will be short lived as I most likely I will move on to another subject before long – but for now I have combined photography, art, and my enjoyment of computer software – each of my abstracts started out as a photograph, took it to PhotoShop software, — Then. I study color, texture, lines and think about what is pleasing to my eye – I never create the abstract to camouflage an item – I just bring color, form, texture, lines together to make a view pleasing as I glance at it for a couple seconds. Not study for a long time.

Well, the little one above does have a deer and man in it – I made it to play with phrase “Deer Hunter.”

As I said, I start with a photo.  For example, a friend and partner in our local photo club sent me a photograph for the Club’s web site which I maintain. http://photohappenings.com

I stole a copy of his photo, turned it into the abstract below – I will say to him now “Sorry, Jim Hennigar, that I destroyed your photo – but I had fun doing it.”

Southwest fire.

Se ya – I am off to another day.
