Ocala area of Florida is the Horse Capital of the World. It has more horses per acre than any other place in the world: 80,000 horses, over 50 breeds, 35,000 thoroughbreds,1,200 horse farms, and 88 painted horses that do not need a Certified Farrier. Yet there are estimated to be 400 farriers working in Ocala during show season.
