July 21,2014 – Featuring shoes – I like to use quotes from people I recognize. Clint Eastwood said “I tried being reasonable, did not like it” But that has nothing to do with shoes – Christian Louboutin is a French footwear designer I did not recognize but he quoted about shoes (looked him up on the web) – So here is his quote that applies to my photos “A shoe is not only a design, but it’s a part of your body”
Prior to going to the art show in Marquette we watched some Blueberry festival talent scout singers – the shoes on this young lady got me thinking – I spent the next several hours shooting shoes – 
We sat and watched – well mostly Grandma toured the art show and I watched and “Shot” feet! -

July 20, 2014 What is beauty? – It is in the eye of the beholder What is a mystery? – If we do not stop to look and wonder about it, is it really a mystery? A quote by Neil Armstrong: “Mystery creates wonder and wonder is the basis of man’s desire to understand.”
I walked on the concrete to my garden – I saw this pattern, I stopped, I wondered, to me it was a mystery! Do you wonder? 
Now I got an idea to the solution to this mystery of nature! 
A closer look at the source of the track – a slug of some kind! Now the first question. What is beauty? Wonder about it – Does his Mother think he is beautiful? 
I painted this rose with PhotoShop from a photo. Among all flowers – roses are special to me – I grew up with antique roses blooming from stock said to have been planted by my Great Great Grandfather. I now have three new bushes that survive winters with day after day never reaching above zero. 100 years from now they may be called Jim’s antique roses? So I thought I would post a fun quote from a first lady: Eleanor Roosevelt said ” I once had a rose named after me and I was very flattered. But I was not pleased to read the description in the catalogue: no good in a bed, but fine up against a wall.”

July 18, 2014 – Thru my windshield is see things – The windshield is my only summer TV program. I watch it ‘most every day for at least 15 minutes.
Michigan UP – Route 134, just East of the city of Detour (East of the Island of Drummond). Thru my windshield, I looked up – sensed an approaching storm – I saw a cloud ghost in the sky & the beginning of a rainbow forming over the road.

Now I have been studying how to compose an image. I like the next one better! 
Fist the eye must know where to look even in a busy photo. I focus on the wood lily. Then, since we read right to left and down, your eye should follow that path – and back around to the beginning – to the rock then back around thru the foreground to the wood lily. Generally lines should be in diagonal – not vertical and horizontal — I think they are from top left to lower right! What fun to study. 
This is not a serious photo – It is just me playing with PhotoShop. Why did I play. Well maybe I remember what Oliver Wendell Holmes said: “Men do not quit playing because they grow old; they grow old because they quit playing” 
Since I did one of these yesterday my body is a little tight, so ……… 
My golf game today may go like this – Well, on this league we truly play golf… you know, be sure to get the beer out of the pick-up before the golf bags – priority sequence! So, no one really gets mad like this!
