DAVE WROTE: Hi Jim, I haven’t been sending you any pictures as there isn’t much around to photograph. The bird populations have been and are disappearing at an exponential rate. The neo-tropical insectivores are just about gone. These are the warblers, vireos, tanagers, thrushes and orioles.
There are many and complicated reasons for this. For someone like me who is into birding and bird photography it is truly tragic. The spring migration here in the north east was about nonexistent. We will keep trying as this is what we do. Hopefully we will find something to shoot as the seasons wear on.
Sorry for the doom and gloom but I have been doing this for many years and this is how it is. Dave
